On May 4th, 2011 I will be heading off on an exciting 1-year trek across Central & South America. I will be carrying two fishing rods in my backpack - one spin casting & one fly rod. Join my adventure as I search for each country's best fishing spots, learn local techniques, and show you how to get in on the action. Rainbow Bass fishing in Nicaragua, Machaca in Costa Rica, and Peacock Bass in Guyana are only a few of the adventures on the itinerary.

Real Travel Magazine - High adventure in the low season (Costa Rica)

My Costa Rica travel article in Real Travel Magazine - High adventure in the low season

Holding your published work is a great feeling - especially after spending countless hours hunched over a keyboard trying to bring a story to life. This was the case for my first published 'travel' article to Costa Rica with my good friends Chris, Nikki, and Ryan. We dubbed our trip 'The 2010 Reckless Road Trip', and we packed as much action and adventure into 10 days as we possibly could. We did it all - partied on white sand beaches, fished at the base of an active volcano, soared through the rain forest  on  zip-lines, and tons more.If you would like to read about our adventure, be sure to pick up a copy of the February issue of Real Travel Magazine - you won't be disappointed.

Who would have thought that one part-time travel writing course at George Brown College would lead to a feature magazine article just a few months later? If you have ever though about writing but just never started, I would be more than willing to give you a few pointers on how to begin (just leave a comment). The most important thing is 'starting'. The second most important thing is to believe that you can write and continue writing'. I would like to thank everyone that has encouraged me to continue writing and continue to push me to live what I love. You can expect many more exciting articles this year as I write while trekking through Central and South America - starting May 4th, 2011.

Live what you love,

Joel (AdventureJo)
